about
"Originally written in February 2011, the song was shelved for many years until in 2016, it was put into final form and the opening riff was stapled. The night that that happened, I came up with the interlude's lyrics and music. The song was demoed that evening for the first time without drums. Then re-recorded in 2017 with drums in demo form, of course."

lyrics
I'm crashing through the darkness
Screaming in the night
The wolves are out to get me
The moon's my only light
Torch lights in the distance
It's where I need to go
Virgin sacrifice tonight
For Satan's evil show
There's blood upon the altar
From last month's sacrifice
Got to make an offering
Got to pay the price
Tie her to the altar and
Make it nice and tight
Gonna spill some blood, oh yeah
We're bloodlust crazed tonight
Oh, is this some kind of dream?
The spirits are out howling at the daemons calling
Into the fire that burns it all
Feel the weight of the master's call
Let the evil consume you whole
You must obey, he owns your soul
He watches
He's near you
Tormentor's haunting you tonight
Your suffering
Your hatred
Your passion's guiding you through the night
I've got the dagger in my grasp
The ritual has begun
Plunge it down and pierce the flesh
The rite has now been done
Sounds of rejoicing ring
Out into the sky
Come next moon we'll do it again
For someone has to die!
Oh it makes me want to scream
The spirits are out howling at the daemons calling

If Elric had a soundtrack it would be this. It's everything you want from a epic metal album. Like a hot poker in the eye, but in a good way. Scott Malthouse

As others have said here, a definite staple in the NWOTHM movement. It has a raw sound that is reminiscent of the era while being a solid banger for a debut album. caffeinatedmetalhead
